Genie Self Service Car Wash

Shannon Murphy 2 months ago

I put money in one of bays and nothing happened. It took my money. I called the number to inform them and got a recording to leave message. I have not heard back from them. If you want to take a chance with your money; this is a place for you. If you value your money and time; go someplace else....

Appreciate there are still self-service car washes around. Takes quarters only, so be prepared; and only $1 & $5 bills taken. Probably $4 in quarters minimum for a basic, quick wash. I did have some issue with the machine not getting started right away, so I wonder if my timer was shortened because of it. As well as the foam brush did not seem to work in one stall.

Pre-soak, the most expensive chemical, didn’t dispense in two different bays. In the bonus bay, the overhead hoses were leaking, and the green tire cleaner dripped from above onto my car. Between the wasted money and the maintenance issues, this felt sloppy.

Decent DIY carwash. Rarely have I had any problem with the change machines. Sprayers, scrub brushes and vacuums are usually all working. There is usually a bunch of trash and litter scattered around, but the carwash is in a fairly trashy neighborhood, so that seems to never change.

I usually visit this place late in the evening. Although I do not particularly like the area because with the apartments just behind the car wash and the Neuman Apartments, there always seems to be a lot of riff raff with people walking around and through, or meeting somebody for a quick exchange of something and then driving off. BUT the car wash is WELL LIT and seems safe enough despite the area that it is in I noticed to on this visit that NONE of the washing bays coin operated boxed have any push buttons TO RETURN YOUR COINS if the machine does not work, or you are unlucky enough to to choose one of the first two washing bays, which if you do not pay close enough attention: are BONUS WASH BAYS meaning that it takes $4.00 to start them and you can wash, rinse, etc for a full 20 minutes for that $4.00 The rest of the wash bays are $1.50 for a much shorter timeframe. The timeframe was not posted in those bays. However, I discovered while trying to help a stranger who unfortunately pulled into a BONUS BAY. and did not realize it until she had started dropping coins into the machine, and then realized the cost, and did not have $4.00 in quarters, nor any $1 or $5 b
